You know what's really funny? After the threats made, stocks of Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix barely took notice.

A lot of Korean stock buyers are deranged gamblers who'd feel right at home at r/WallStreetBets, and even they are tuning out of America's shit.

Please go ahead. Just means less demand so it will be cheaper for rest of us.

What are this administration's achievements in the first 100 days if any ? So far they have shot US citizens in the name of immigration enforcement, damaged US-Canada relationship permanently, lost every trade negotiation on the table, failed to stop any war while claiming to stop tens, violated a country's sovereignty but didnt even get oil deals, have done nothing to stop fentanyl abuse as most fentanyl is smuggled in the US bu US citizens whose vehicles are not checked at the border, defied court orders, damaged the dollars buying power and have taco-ed out of every major negotiation and just this morning sued the IRS (which is funded by US tax payers) for $10B. I mean Joe Biden dropped put because of one bad debate, honestly even Biden in that state would make for a better president.

Quite a lot actually. Project 2025 is progressing just fine and as scheduled. It is huge success (well, if you are the conservative heritage foundation type).

The law enforcement is now fully rigged in their favor. IRS is weakened. No one will prosecute white collar rich guy crimes, cause DOJ do not have those capabilities anymore. However, they are capable to harass opposition better then ever before. They also successfully build unaccountable outside of law paramilitary force.

They seem to be on their way to get permanent power, so it is not like they achieved nothing.

Never has a factual answer been so dark. I didnt look at the question from the lens of corruption and abuse of power. I seriously hope nobody voted hoping for this outcome.

Tyranny breeds resistance, as always.

for real. quite depressing actually. wake me up when this awful dream ends.

> Nomura Securities report estimated that Samsung and SK hynix may need to invest between 100 trillion and 120 trillion won in the United States between 2027 and 2030 to avoid hiked tariffs. Nomura also projected that Washington could offer Korean chipmakers a framework similar to that extended to TSMC, under which imports up to two and a half times the scheduled U.S. production capacity would be granted exemptions during construction, followed by eased regulations on shipments up to one and a half times after operations begin.

> Seoul faces practical limits in matching the scale of Taiwan’s commitments.. official summaries indicate a joint investment and guarantee package of about $350 billion agreed with the U.S., of which approximately $150 billion is earmarked for a shipbuilding cooperation project.. this allocation leaves less capacity to offer Taiwan‑style semiconductor investment packages and could complicate negotiations over parity.

Deglobalization is underway.

It has started already. Look at the stock market alone, USA economy, gold/silver all time high even before the biggest crash yesterday.

USA is no longer a superpower, they just haven't noticed it yet.

> USA is no longer a superpower, they just haven't noticed it yet

Well, I feel sorry for the first country that tries to test that theory.

One can make an argument the global dollar is losing its hold, or that the world is expanding away from US trade, which are both objectively true.

But to say the US is not a superpower is rather foolish.

It's a heavyweight and will remain so, but it's ability to influence what other countries do is in freefall. Whether that disqualifies it as a superpower is a matter of definition, I suppose.

De-USA-fication maybe.

Canada and UK doing deals with China.

EU doing deals with India and South America.

Just one trading partner that's a loose cannon on the deck and no longer reliable.
